Aluminium bifolds complete room transformation in Cheltenham

Cheltenham Glass and Glazing recently completed the installation of aluminium bifold doors and new Pilkington Activ Clear glass roof lanterns in the Gloucester Road area of Cheltenham.

Carried out as sub-contractors for a local building firm, our expert team was called to complete the renovation of a small flat roof extension at the Gloucestershire property.

Supplied by Smart Systems, the bifold doors offer impressive opening apertures which allow maximum light into the room and seamlessly link indoor and outdoor spaces. In addition to the bifold doors, the team from Cheltenham Glass and Glazing also added three new Pilkington Activ Clear lanterns to the Gloucester Road roof, which now bathe the room with natural light, making it a light and welcoming space.

The roof lanterns feature self cleaning coatings which is ideal for hard to reach windows such as those located on roofs or conservatories. Daylight and rainwater combine to break down and wash away organic dirt on the exterior of the glass, which in turn, helps to reduce the frequency of hand-cleaning.

Solar controlled glass works by absorbing, reflecting and transmitting solar heat radiation. This will lead to improved thermal retention in buildings in temperate climates and also has the benefit of reducing energy bills, which is great news for these Cheltenham residents.
