Restricted access in Christchurch Road, Cheltenham

At Cheltenham Glass and Glazing we’re proud to say that no job is too big or too small. We’ve replaced all the windows in mill buildings and at the other end of the scale have been asked to repair a couple of hinges at a property.

In addition to carrying out window replacements in large homes we also work in confined spaces too, which was the case in Christchurch Road, Cheltenham where we were asked to replace the sliding doors as part of a job on the top floor of a block of flats.

Access to the flat was via a narrow staircase or a small lift, both of which were too small to accommodate the double sliding doors that were needed to replace the original doors that had been in situ since the flats were constructed.

In order to remove the old sliding doors our fitters dismantled them on the roof terrace and carried the constituent parts downstairs piece by piece.

The replacement uPVC sliding doors needed to be ordered “flat pack” style, which we then carried up to the property individually – no mean feat when you consider the weight of a large double-glazed window!

Once we had recovered (!) we built the frames around the glazed panels, ensuring that they were constructed accurately and installed the new sliding doors.
